Rasim Karakas: From Bosnia and Herzegovina to Leading the Way at LBA

After a standout season with Lithuanian Basketball Academy, Bosnian guard Rasim Karakas reflects on his growth, leadership role, and future ambitions.

For Rasim Karakas, the 2024–25 season with Lithuanian Basketball Academy was more than just a chapter in his basketball journey — it was a breakthrough. Hailing from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the skilled guard quickly made his mark and emerged as one of the team’s leaders both on and off the court.

"This season meant a lot to me," Karakas says. "Coming to LBA gave me the chance to challenge myself at a high level, and I feel like I made the most of it."

Rasim joined LBA with a clear determination to improve, and his impact was felt immediately. With his strong court vision, defensive toughness, and leadership presence, he became a vital piece of the academy’s system.

"From the very beginning, I felt welcomed and motivated," he recalls. "The coaching staff trusted me, and I did my best to lead by example—whether it was in games, practices, or off the court."

Throughout the season, Rasim consistently delivered in key moments. His calm under pressure and ability to elevate teammates helped LBA remain competitive across every matchup.

"Every day was about learning," he says. "I worked hard to get better in all aspects of my game—reading the floor, staying disciplined, and being a vocal leader."

As one of the core players on the roster, Karakas proudly reflects on the team’s chemistry and culture.

"We had a great group. Everyone was committed. Being part of a team like this, where everyone pushes each other, made me love the game even more."

Looking ahead, Rasim remains focused and ambitious. His strong season at LBA has built momentum that he hopes to carry into the next phase of his career.

"LBA gave me the platform to grow and show what I can do. I’m thankful for everything—now it’s time to keep working and take the next step."
