Batuhan Yiğit Ready for the Next Step After a Strong Season at the Lithuanian Basketball Academy
After a year of steady growth, disciplined work and competition, Turkish guard Batuhan Yiğit is preparing to make the leap to Lithuania’s second-tier professional league, the NKL. After a successful season at the Lithuanian Basketball Academy (LBA), he reflects on his journey and looks ahead to the challenges ahead.

Batuhan Yiğit’s time at the Lithuanian Basketball Academy has proven to be a significant chapter in his young career. The talented Turkish guard has made consistent improvements in his game throughout the 2024-25 season and is now preparing for the next stage: professional basketball in the Lithuanian National Basketball League (NKL).
“Last season was everything I hoped for and more,” says Yiğit. “The LBA environment challenged me every day, both physically and mentally. This season was a special time where I got to know both basketball and myself more deeply.
From the first day in LBA, Batuhan showed dedication, discipline and a strong work ethic. His ability to quickly adapt to the high standards of Lithuanian basketball allowed him to stand out even among a competitive group of international potential.
“Competing in Lithuania was a great challenge,” he explains. “The tempo, the defense, the coaching – it was all at a very high level. They demanded my best every day and that helped me improve.”
Batuhan earned the opportunity to play professionally in the NKL, one of the strongest second leagues in Europe, thanks to his dedication and performance.
“I am incredibly excited and grateful for this opportunity,” he says. “Playing in the NKL will be a big step and I feel ready because of everything I have experienced in LBA.”
Yiğit also took a moment to thank the academy that paved the way for this opportunity.
“LBA believed in me from the very beginning. The coaches, teammates and staff were always supportive. I will always be grateful for this experience – it made me stronger, smarter and more confident.”
With the upcoming season in the NKL, Batuhan Yiğit is entering a new chapter, but his roots in the LBA will continue to be an important part of his story
