⸻ Q: What brings you to Istanbul this time? Levan Japaridze: This visit is very important for us. We are here to strengthen our relationship with PSA Sport Agency and to build a long-term partnership that will benefit young players. Istanbul is a key basketball hub, and it gives us access to talented players who are looking for opportunities in Europe.
⸻ Q: What is the main goal of this partnership? Levan Japaridze: Our main goal is to create a clear pathway for players. Through this partnership, players from Turkey and surrounding regions will have the chance to join the Lithuanian Basketball Academy program in Kaunas, Lithuania — one of the strongest basketball environments in Europe. We want to combine professional basketball development with education, giving players a complete experience.
⸻ Q: Why is Lithuania such an important destination for players? Levan Japaridze: Lithuania is known worldwide for its basketball culture. It’s not just a sport there — it’s a lifestyle. Players train hard, compete in strong leagues, and develop discipline and professionalism. At LBA, we provide: • High-level training and competition • 50–60 games per season • Exposure to scouts from leagues like NKL and RKL • Opportunities to study while playing
⸻ Q: What can players and parents expect from this collaboration? Levan Japaridze: They can expect transparency, structure, and real opportunities. Together with PSA Sport Agency, we are organizing events, including our conference in Istanbul, where players and parents can meet us directly, ask questions, and understand the pathway. We are not just offering a program — we are offering a future in basketball.
⸻ Q: What is your message to young players in Turkey? Levan Japaridze: If you are serious about basketball and want to reach a professional level, you need to step out of your comfort zone. Competing in Lithuania will challenge you and help you grow. We are here to support players who are ready to work hard, stay disciplined, and chase their dreams.
⸻ Q: What’s next for LBA and PSA? Levan Japaridze: This is just the beginning. We are planning more camps, scouting events, and long-term development programs. Our vision is to create a strong bridge between Turkey and Lithuania through basketball.
